Developed by Booking.com in collaboration with UN Tourism, this course titled ‘Your journey to more sustainable energy management’ is part of a four-course series on discovering a more sustainable approach to hospitality. The objective of this course is for you to learn about and practice a more sustainable way of tracking and managing your energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).

This course consists of five modules that will guide you through concepts such as Net Zero and Carbon Neutrality, best practices such as the Glasgow Declaration and how to set a roadmap to reduce your emissions, and practical examples for accommodations around the world.
If you are interested in gaining fundamental knowledge on how to apply a more sustainable approach to your accommodation management, we invite you to take the other three courses in this series, which are also available on the Tourism Online Academy.

Anna is a Principal Consultant in ERM’s London office who works with global companies developing Net Zero strategies. She has over 14 years of experience as an environmental sustainability professional including expertise in Corporate strategies involving Net Zero, Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, decarbonisation strategy, science-based targets, audit preparation and reporting (i.e., CDP, SECR, DJSI). In addition, Anna has experience in Just Transition, Circular Economy, Waste Management and Climate Change risks and opportunities.

Professor of Professor of Sustainability Marketing at the University of Surrey

Xavier is a professor, researcher and consultant specializing in sustainable tourism production and consumption. With expert knowledge on everything from sustainable tourism certification to sustainability marketing and policies, his work has been widely published. He serves as an advisor in the Travalyst coalition, where he uses his research experience to inform efforts and help stakeholders align on sustainability frameworks for the supply chain of the tourism sector.
