Leonardo Latorre Melin
Master's in Tourism Management and Innovation with a specialization in Destination Management
Leonardo Latorre Melin has a master’s degree in tourism management and innovation, with a specialization in destination management. He lectures at the School of Tourism at Duoc UC, Valparaíso campus. Leonardo is a project manager focused on sustainable tourism and territorial planning. He holds a tourism-cultural administrator degree from Universidad de Valparaíso, with additional diplomas in indigenous public policies and environmental management. As the Executive Director and a founding member of Regenera NGO, he is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices and innovative tourism solutions.
Marcela Cerda Aliaga
Tourism-Cultural Manager
Marcela Cerda Aliaga is a Tourism-Cultural Administrator from Universidad de Valparaíso, with a bachelor’s degree in tourism and culture. She lectures at the School of Tourism at Duoc UC, Valparaíso campus, and has experience managing projects in both the public and private sectors. Marcela has been involved in training microenterprises through Sercotec and Fosis projects. Her diverse background in tourism management and community-focused projects equips her with practical insights into enhancing tourism and cultural initiatives.
Juan López Contreras
Deputy Director of the School of Tourism and Hospitality at Duoc UC
Juan López Contreras earned his master’s degree in tourism from Monash University in Australia. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Director of the School of Tourism and Hospitality at Duoc UC. With a background in commercial engineering and business administration, Juan brings extensive expertise to his role. He is also a member of the Board of the Chilean Federation of Tourism Companies. His career reflects a deep commitment to advancing tourism education and industry standards in Chile and beyond.
Andrés Ried Luci
PhD in Leisure and Human Potential
Dr. Andrés Ried Luci holds a PhD in leisure and human potential from the University of Deusto. He is an Associate Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Villarrica Campus, and a researcher at the Center for Local Development Studies (CEDEL-UC). His research focuses on outdoor leisure experiences, their associated benefits and barriers, and the sense of place built in protected wilderness areas and urban environments. He has also studied changes in leisure practices during confinement scenarios, contributing valuable insights into contemporary leisure trends.
